Goddess's Choice Review

Title: The Goddess's Choice
Author: Jamie Marchant
Genre: Period Fantasy
Pages: 385

Blurb: Samantha’s ability enables her to discern a person’s character through their multi-colored aura, and Robrek’s makes him the strongest healer the kingdom has seen in centuries. But their gifts also endanger their lives. Royals scheme to usurp the throne by marrying or killing Samantha, and priests plot to burn Robrek at the stake. Robrek escapes the priests only to be captured by Samantha’s arch-enemy, Duke Argblutal; Argblutal intends to force the princess to marry him by exploiting Robrek’s powers. To save their own lives and stop the realm from sinking into civil war, Robrek and Samantha must consolidate their powers and unite the people behind them.

My Review: If you are into sword and sorcery this is a book you need to read. Jamie Marchant does an excellent  job of making this story come alive on the pages. Every character from the main to the most minor is easily believable and every scene makes you feel as though you were right there. I never lost interest in The Goddess's Choice it kept me wanting to know more with every turn of the page. The sword fighting scenes at time could be very graphic but were interesting to read. I enjoyed the way this book played out and look forward to more in this series.
