Meant For Me Review

Title: Meant For Me
Author: L.P. Dover
Genre: NA 18+
Pages: 302

The Blurb: ***A STEAMY, ROMANTIC SUSPENSE (STANDALONE) NOVEL BY THE BESTSELLING AUTHOR, L.P. DOVER. If you love sexy MMA fighters then this book is definitely for you. Let the fight begin ...***

After a night of raw passion with the man Claire O'Briene had been secretly admiring for years, she thought their time together had come once and for all. Fate had finally brought them back to each other, but unfortunately nothing had changed. He was still the same man who ran away from relationships. Against his better judgment, Mason Bradley gave in to the temptation and allowed himself one night with the one woman he'd been too afraid to want ... too afraid to need.

Four months after leaving Claire and regretting every minute of it, Mason gets called in for an undercover mission that's not only dangerous, but brings back a past he spent years trying to forget. A past of fighting ... of getting in the ring and using his fists to get what he wanted: money, women, and drugs. Now there are fighters turning up dead, and it's Mason's job to find out the truth.

Knowing he might not come out of the mission alive, Mason seeks out Claire to tell her how he truly feels, only to find another man competing for her love as well. Fighting is what he's good at, and for once he will be fighting not only for justice ... but for love.

My Review: Meant For Me is one sexy, steamy, thriller suspense ride you won't soon forget! SEXY is not even enough of a description for me to use to describe what I read. I need a a cold shower and the a/c and it's -14 where I live. I was so enthralled with this story that I couldn't nor did I want to put it down. Every fiber of my being was vested in Meant For Me. I read scene after scene wondering if the story could get any better and boy did it ever! The characters were realistic not just like in some stories to good to be true. I loved Claire's fire and passion for things and how once she set her sights on something she didn't let can't stop her it only made her fight harder. Mason now let's see he had to figure out how to pull his head from his
bum or he was never going to get what he wanted no that's not saying that the package was not complete he was smart and sexy he just didn't know how to listen to his heart and trust what he felt. When Claire and Mason came together it was like magic and the whole world stopped in that moment and nothing else mattered or could compare. So when Mason takes up in an undercover mission Fighting in the MMA fighting circle he and Claire are faced with some hard and irreversible consequences that could change their lives forever. Would they be able to face these challenges or would it take away everything they fought so hard for. Those questions my dear friends are for you to discover the answers to. Go grab a copy of Meant for Me as L.P. Dover will not disappoint you with her writing skills.

The Keeper Rebirth Review

Title: The Keeper: Rebirth
Author: O.L. Ramos
Genre: Paranormal/ Romance
Pages: 323

The Blurb: When Klein divided the supernatural community and threw the gauntlet down, Liz and crew warned everyone. They watched and did their best to protect the world. No one could have counted on the sadistic vampire's plan, and no one could be ready for it.

Now, the world is drowning in the vile Hela poison. Supers are panicking in the streets, old forgotten legends have reemerged expecting the end of the world, and the long dreaded end might be upon all of us.

Liz is finally together with the tortured Vincent, and they’re genuinely happy. But the two may never know true bliss. The great lie, the world behind the veil, might be revealed.

If that happens, not even Michael, nature's favorite werewolf, may be able to restore the balance.

But there is something else that is emerging from the mask of mystery. Two ancient enemy forces are about to fight a war; their battleground?

Earth itself.

My Review: The day I had waited for finally had arrived I had my own copy of Rebirth to read and I could not wait any longer. As I began I knew that my anticipation and anxiety were high as were my expectations. The first two novels in The Keeper Series were awesome I only hoped that it had carried on to the third novel. I cautiously began reading in hopes that my heart nor my dreams of this book would be smashed. I continued reading and my pace and pulse quickened. I had to know the whole story I had to make it to the end I had to know if any or all of my questions had been answered. I finally finished and as I tuned off my ereader I realized that I had been blown away yet again by OL Ramos! Rebirth was everything I hoped it would be and a thousand time more than I expected. I was so excited for Lizzy and Vincent and of course Michael and Mary. The characters were just as lovable as before and I could not have wrote them any better if I tried. Vincent still held fast to my heart and Michael was like coming home to an old friend always excited to see you. As for Lizzy well she was still as spunky as ever she had a tale of her own still yet to weave. Mary was and will always be truly beautiful inside and out. Each scene only made me want to read more and love the book that much more.  This story was nail biting grab you by the seat of your pants thrill riding fun! Battles were fought ferociously and truths were revealed that could break and ruin it all and yet I pondered would balance be restored would the world finally be saved and had my questions been answered or was there more to this story yet to be told. I can't answer that for you as you must find out for yourself. I will say this though if there is more to this story to be told bring it on Mr. Ramos I'm ready, willing, and able to take it on!

Excerpt

In the dead of night their boat went unnoticed by the sentries as the current tossed the boat around. If they were like most guards they were probably dozing on the job. But she had to assume they were heavily armed and dangerous. Erik hit the throttle and veered off at the last second bringing the boat back around again, getting as close as possible.
Dim lights glowed from some of the portholes, but most were dark.
Kaitlyn analyzed the wind and gauged the waves before leaping forward, she grabbed ahold of the ladder rung and pulled herself up quickly, climbing with ease. Erik was close on her heels.
Silently Kaitlyn dropped to the floor, and simply stood there watching, listening. Her mind went cold, analytical. She could hear muted voices, footsteps scraping, water dripping, the hum of fluorescent lights. In the distance someone coughed. No one was aware of their presence.
The ship was old, rusty and large. It was 965 foot long and had almost 3,000 shipping containers on it.  The captives could be anywhere. Mentally she went over the blue prints seeking out the largest rooms where Dasvoik would most likely sleep. She vectored in a couple of locations.
The stench was overwhelming—rotten food, feces and urine to name a few mixed with the salty air. While her sensors were busy sorting out the different scents, sounds and possible scenarios they could encounter, Kaitlyn panned back and forth scanning the area, taking in the heat sensors.
Several different caution symbols illuminated on her internal screen. Nearby an armed guard stood off to her left. The man was completely unaware he was a breath away from death— if he made the wrong move.

I can't remember a time when I didn't want to write.  From the time I was learned enough to string sentences together I liked writing stories.  In high school I was the literary editor of our school magazine Sketches and had a series of short stories that I'd written even then.  I'm published with two wonderful publishers, World Castle and Solstice Publishing, and on my own as an Indie.

I live in Florida with my two adult children and my husband of 30+ years.  I have a wonderful dog named Snickers that can even open her own Christmas presents! (don't believe me?  Look below) When I'm not working full time in the insurance industry, I write.  I believe any writer should write because they love the craft. The rest will come in time.  I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I've enjoyed writing them.

Excerpt - When Mabe meets Aaron Shaw for the first time
The door to the pub swung open for a tall, ebony haired man wearing an expensive tan suit. Mabe straightened. Riveted, she stared at his strikingly angular face. His chin, grooved by a slight dimple, struck her as sexy.
His gaze roamed the bar, settling on her. Warmth radiated through her entire body. Never had she felt such an intense attraction to a man. Who the hell is he? She didn’t recall ever seeing him in the pub. Her nerves tingled. Resembling a panther, he wove his way through the crowd. Slightly ashamed of her attraction to a strange man at her father’s wake, she turned her back, resuming her position behind the bar. She spoke to several patrons, mentally noting their drink orders on her way.
“No one could pull a pint like your da,” an old grizzled man at the end of the mahogany counter stated. “Smooth like silk he was.”
Mabe smiled. “He was, Angus. We’ll miss him.” She handed a frothy mug to the man. “Here you go. Enjoy that.”
“I will,” Angus declared, raising his glass to her. “To many years.”
She picked up a glass of Coke, clinked it against Angus’s mug. “And to you.”
“I’ll have one of those if you don’t mind,” a deep voice spoke from behind her.
Turning, ready with a flirty response on her tongue, she came face to face with her handsome stranger. His eyes matched the deep rich mahogany of the bar. His smile, while slightly crooked, seemed genuine and swept the words right out of her brain.
“Uh…sure. Name your poison.”
“Guinness?”
Mabe nodded, pulled the beer, scraping the foam from the top. “I’ve never seen you here before. What’s your name, and how did you know my dad?”
His gaze caught hers, sympathy reflected in his eyes. She tried to look away, but she couldn’t. The man was a god.
“I’m sorry for your loss.”
“Thanks. He will be missed for sure.”
“I just realized…this is his wake, isn’t it? A private party?”
She nodded. “It is.”
The man smiled gently. “I’m sorry. I’m afraid I’m intruding. I should go.”
She set the beer in front of him. “Nah, we’re all friends here. It is a private party, but stay if you’d like.” She gestured. “Those are my sisters Meg and Mara. We own the place now.”
“It’ll be hard to run it without your father, won’t it?”
Mabe sighed, leaning on her elbows. “It won’t be the same, for sure, but we’ll do okay. It’ll take some work….” She glanced lovingly around the pub with all its Irish paraphernalia adorning he walls. “Da, loved this place. I grew up here. It’s our place. We’ll make it work.”
She shivered, feeling his intense stare. Her skin burned under the laser scan of his eyes. Her pulse jumped. If the room were empty except for the two of them, he’d be in some serious trouble. He took a sip of the Guinness, still staring at her over the mug.
She licked her lips then broke the gaze. She swiped at the glossy mahogany top with a rag. “What brings you to town?”
“Business,” was his response.
“Ooh, cryptic, are we?” She flirted.
“Suits me for now.”
A man at the end of the counter signaled for her. She held up a finger then approached her guest. She served a few more beers, all the while being extremely aware of his gaze. His allure was more powerful than any she’d ever experienced. Monticello wasn’t full of dashing men in expensive suits, but it had its fair share of good lookers. Lord knew she’d flirted with some from time to time, even dated a few, but none of them stirred in her what this man did.
No longer needed, she returned to him, eyeing his empty mug. “Another?”
He nodded, offered her a smile.
Her knees weakened. She steadied herself by grasping the smooth wood. What the hell is wrong with me? She pulled his beer, but before she handed it to him she asked, “What did you say your name was?”
He chuckled. “I didn’t.”
She set the mug down in front of him. “Oh, come on. You’re not going to waltz into my pub during my daddy’s wake and not tell me who you are. It’s not polite.”
One dark eyebrow rose. “Not polite, huh?”
“Not at all,” she declared, leaning on the bar, offering him her most dazzling smile.
“Okay then…if you insist.
“I do.”
He held out his hand. Mabe reached out, taking his warm palm in hers. The air between them practically crackled with tension. “Aaron Shaw.”
Her previously heated blood froze. In one swift moment, all the allure she’d experienced earlier evaporated. This is the shark trying to buy my pub. The nerve of this man, waltzing in here, flirting with me, when all the while he’s casing the joint for a future purchase. She grabbed his beer unceremoniously dumping it on his head. The dark brew dripped from his hair all over his tan suit.
“What the hell?” he shouted, jumping off the stool.
“Get out of my pub,” she yelled at him.

Title-Fallen Tears
Series-Blood Crave # 1.5
By- Christina Channelle
Genre- YA Paranormal
Publication Date- January 25, 2013

Blurb-
We left off from DAHLIA with only a name--a name that is the next piece to the puzzle. A name that will eventually, "lead us to him." But before we delve into the continuation of the Blood Crave Series, let's answer the question that's been on all our minds.

Who is Rowan?

This 21,000 word novella answers that question, and of how Rowan has come to know the vampire with pitch-black eyes

My Review:  Fallen Tears maybe a novella but it has no shortage on detail. Rowan comes as a mystery like Dahlia in ways both not having a family both having a dark secret that would change their lives. Rowan has her life ripped apart and changed in the blink of an eye. She wants to hide and tuck herself into her once safe life. However, that is not what Rowan must do. She becomes so much stronger than even Rowan herself believed she could. This novella may be short but you will not miss out on anything.

Dark. Night. Death.

Things Rowan has been trying to avoid for the many years since she was first turned. Her choice: to sleep away the darkness; it beats having to deal with the craziness of life. Or rather, death. However soon after awakening, she stumbles upon a lone figure whose presence is shrouded with mystery.

She assists him in his search for answers making it even more difficult for Rowan to forget her past. She realizes she can’t hide forever as she is literally being sucked back into her chaotic world: a world where both fallen angels and vampires exist, manifested on earth as lapsus and lamia.

Not particularly … friendly with one another.

Rowan struggles to resist her hunger as a demon vampire while dealing with unwanted desires for a fallen angel from the past: a relationship that could only spell trouble. Not to mention the unresolved feelings she still has for a loved one from long ago.

While all of this is happening, they must all seek the hidden evil that hunts them—for there’s an ancient fighting to wake up and destroy everything Rowan holds dear.

My Review: I begin Rowan the second novel in The Blood Crave Series with some familiarity yet sure I had no clue what I maybe in for. Evil lurks and waits behind every dark corner for those who have a weakness that can be torturous. this evil will take everything Rowan holds dear and has the potential to destroy all of it. Rowan will get thrown back into her past and has to make a decision to stay hidden or find this evil that has the need to destroy everything for everyone. Now I will not down play this story. It is a complete thrill ride every page you read. It lacks nothing in the way of detail or in the personality of the characters. I truly believe that Christina Channelle does a fantastic job with this series and am hopeful that the next book in the Blood Crave Series holds as much excitement and mystery as the first ones have.
