More than a century after the tragedy of Hélène's death and before Ella found Kale bruised and broken on her doorstep, Kale moved through the world in a haze of personal punishment allowing it to consume him. Until his friend, Detective Deacon, a newly infected Chorý calls on him for a favor.
In this prequel to the Few Are Angels series, Kale is thrown into a world of human blood trafficking and is introduced to a Chorý that offers him a chance at happiness— in blood.
My Review: Immortal Heart was an exciting and heart stopping book for me. As I discovered the back story of Kale and Deacon I was mesmerized by this book. As the scenes play out for me in my mind my heart flutters. When Kale for the first time meets Sola could she be the "one"? Can she be that person that heals Kales soul and aching heart and show him that love does exist? Oh how I so enjoyed watching all of these questions and more play out in this story. I really liked this book as it wasn't just boy meets girl they fall in love blah, blah, blah like so many others Immortal heart had so much more depth. The mystery and intrigue that went along with it as well truly helped make this book stand out for me and take notice as well as dive into it and not want to put it down. Inger Iverson masterfully captures you in her works by placing you the reader into the book and letting you walk through as if she had meant for you to be there. I truly enjoyed reading this story and may have to keep this on my to be read again shelf.
