Where Petals Fall Review

Title: Where Petals Fall
Author: Melissa Foster
Genre: Mystery/ Thriller
Pages: 283

The Blurb: On the surface Junie Olson's life looks idyllic, from her handsome husband and beautiful daughter to her successful business, the bakery she'd always dreamed of opening. But in the past few months her world has slowly unraveled. Her precocious child is withdrawing, showing unexplainable signs of emotional regression, a condition that frays the bonds of Junie's once impenetrable marriage. When her father dies suddenly of a heart attack, Junie packs up her daughter and goes home to help her mother. Her homecoming stirs up memories of the nightmare she thought she had put behind her, the disappearance of her childhood friend, Ellen. Haunted by recurring memories of what happened on that fateful day, Junie must gather the courage to revisit her past and untangle the secrets surrounding her missing friend, and the trauma that has caused her little girl to climb back into herself. As the pieces come together on the event that shook her small town, and at the risk of losing everyone she loves, Junie will question everything she thought she could rely on and everyone she thought she knew.

My Review: As I began to read this story the little hairs on the back of my neck started to rise as a chill ran down my spine leaving me hanging on the edge of my seat waiting for something to come around the corner of the next page that would only make my heart race faster. It was all over for me at that point I was hooked putting the book down was no longer an option. I had to know every last detail and I had to know it right now! Where Petals Fall had a tight grip on me at that point and I was over my head trying to come up for air. As I became one with the characters and their daily lives that involved so much from the deepest felt love to ripping your heart of of your chest heartache. Junie's mind was a maze of barriers each one blocking out what was really there. As she tries to remember she begins to get broken pieces of memory leaving her not sure of who or what to trust. As the story progressed and I started to be able to put some of the puzzle pieces in place I knew I was far from knowing the truth. I loved every minute of it! Becoming part of Junie's journey to uncover the truth about the past and helping to find out the secrets that her daughter had locked away was absolutely amazing. I am once again hooked by  author Melissa Foster. I love her style of writing leaving the reader on the edge of their seat nail biting thriller.  I will for sure adding this one to my list of favorites!
