Awaken Blog Tour

Title: Awaken
Author: HJ Daly
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy
Tour Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Synopsis:

Two years later and Esa is still fighting her internal battles, as well as those who seek to destroy her growing power.
Sent on a mission to seek out new threats, Esa’s life is one fight after another with goblins, trolls, witches, and sorcerers to try and stop her. One night she is totally overcome by a terrifying nightmare of death on such a huge scale that it has her running for home. It is not something she can run from, and as a new power consumes her she truly understands what a monster really can achieve, but is the monster the creature before her or does it lie deep within her own soul?

My Review: Awaken is the second book in series following Pulse. I fell in love with this genre of YA/Fantasy almost post apocalyptic. I really got into this series and thought the characters were great. Esa is a force not to be reckoned with she doesn't back down from a fight especially when comes to a battle that is the difference between life and death. Rootu and Thomas are also back to be any help or mischief they can be. This time though Esa fight is much bigger that even she herself could imagine struggling internally to figure out were this monster is really right in front of her or in the dark depths of her soul. This is a battle that may mean life or death for Esa if she can't figure things out and quick. I found this book to be very entertaining and an enjoyable read this not your typical damsel in distress where the white knight rides in on his trusty steed to save her type of story. There is no damsel in distress at least wise not one that can't fight her own battles which I found to be refreshing for a change. I am very hopeful that there is a book three to the series as I would like to know a little more on how this story all plays out but, I was not disappointed in Awaken in any way it truly is a great book. So go grab a copy of Pulse and Awaken and wait for book three with me.
5/5

Author Bio:

HJ has always loved stories, and writing became a natural progression to reading. Reading with her own children and then at schools in a hope of capturing the hearts and minds of the young. It wasn’t always about writing though, during her late teens, HJ stepped up her Latin American dancing and travelled Europe.
