Blurb:

Julie Gerber isn't thrilled to be pulled out of school her senior year to follow her parents halfway around the world to unearth a lost pyramid. However, when the cute British guy and the mysterious financier of their project both fight for her attention, things start to get interesting.

The pharaoh known as Djedefre was cursed for the murder of his eldest brother. The work of the archaeologists brings new secrets to light, ones that prove the fallen god-king wasn't the villain history had painted him to be. Can they prove his innocence?

As the team digs deeper into the mystery, members of the party vanish or end up dead. Someone is determined to keep the truth hidden at all costs, even 4,500 years later.

My Review: I was a bit unsure of this book at first but thought I would give it a try anyway. What a surprise it was I loved it. It was every bit of a YA paranormal thriller! It had a touch of romance to it as well but, I was so caught up in the mystery of it all. The Forgotten Pharaoh had me on the edge of my seat literally through most of the story. I devoured this book trying to quench my need of having to know more about who was trying to keep the truth hidden as the archaeological team uncovered more of this 4500 year mystery.
I felt that the characters were all very well written. I was able to connect to most of them and relate to them on some level through out the entire book. I enjoyed meeting Julie Gerber as she stumbled through with her romantic interests. I truly had a great time reading this book and getting involved in it. I truly felt as though I had been transported into the story. I believe Laura DeLuca does a fantastic job of making the reader feel as though they are actually there and holding the interest of the reader quite well. I can honestly say that The Forgotten Pharaoh is one book that kept me guessing right up to the very end. This book is worth the read and I encourage others to give this book a chance as they maybe surprised as to what lies in wait for them!
5/5
