Beyond the Eyes Trilogy Blog Tour

Title- Beyond the Eyes
Series-Beyond the Eyes Trilogy Book # 1
By-Rebekkah Ford
Publication Date- June 3, 2012

Genre-YA Paranormal Fantasy

“A thrilling, wholly satisfying first book to a new young adult series. It will keep you wanting more.” –Valentina Cano,  Carabosse’s Library

“Beyond the Eyes is haunting yet passionate. This breakout novel is quick and hip, a saucy must-read.”–Charles Land, Judas Pistol

Paige knows evil exists in this world, but she never imagined it would want something from her.

In the small town of Astoria, Oregon, surrounded by deep forest and endless mountains, another world thrives . . . a menacing one where dark spirits dwell in soulless humans. Seventeen-year-old Paige Reed lives in this lush, picturesque setting. She’s not your average teen, though she appears to be. Not only is she heartsick, but she’s been receiving cryptic premonitions from a ghostly voice since the age of four. After she hears a haunting message about herself, supernatural occurrences begin to confuse her.

Nathan Caswell seems to peer into Paige’s soul, evoking a magnetic energy between them they cannot deny. They’re connected. But he’s no ordinary guy. He tracks dark spirits and becomes alarmed when they set their sights on Paige.

When two power-hungry malevolent beings make demands on her, she realizes then the fate of mankind rest in her hands. Her world quickly turns inside out where the impossible becomes possible, and in the end she’s faced with a life changing decision that will not only alter her existence but the world as she knows it.

Can a deeply troubled teen overcome her own demons in order to fight those lurking about? With the past and present colliding, Paige must make the ultimate mortal choice. Will it be the right one?

My Review: What I want to tell you about this book and what I'm going to tell you are two very different things. What I will tell you is this, absolutely riveting! I never wanted the book to end. I was glued to my seat never moved until the last page. I was totally encased in this story! Beyond the Eyes is a definite thrill ride. Rebekkah Ford does an amazing job in this the first of her trilogy. Now to what I won't tell you is any secrets about the book. No, I will leave it up to you to get a copy and read for yourself. Enjoy I know I did!

Title- Dark Spirits
Series- Beyond the Eyes Trilogy Book # 2
By- Rebekkah Ford
Publication Date- February 23, 2013

Blurb-
Now immortal, Paige is emotionally and physically stronger than ever. She must find the location of the ancient incantations to prevent mass genocide. But the war against good and evil is spawning another war–a battle between the dark spirits themselves. Paige is saddled in the center of both growing revolutions and is ready to take on the dark forces. But Nathan’s overprotectiveness prevents her from taking action, and he’s hiding things.

Paige’s personal life gets more complicated when Brayden arrives back in town and offers the equal partnership she desperately craves from Nathan. Then there’s Carrie and Tree, her two best friends and only family she has left. Unfortunate circumstances thrust them into Paige’s dark world, giving her no choice but to allow Nathan to arm them with combat techniques in hope they’ll be able to protect themselves.

Meanwhile, Paige is having visions and discovering abilities she was unaware of. When Anwar comes to visit, his weird behavior alarms her. Could he be turning to the dark side?

Time is running out. Paige not only needs to find the incantations but also to untangle the bands around her heart and make a decision that could leave her with a life worse than death–a life of betrayal from the ones she trusted most.

My Review: Rebekkah Ford has done it again. She as I said before has written another riveting addition to this amazing series. I while reading Dark Spirits would think I had it all figured out and turn to the next chapter only to find I was wrong. I am loving this series so far and am so looking forward to the third book with so much enthusiasm I almost can not contain it. I will again tell you to go get this series I am sure you will love it as well!

Evan Elemental

Title: Evan Elemental
Series- Evan Elemental Book # 1
By-Crystal Groszek
Publication Date- May 3, 2013

Genre- Paranormal Fiction/Romance

Blurb-
Orphaned at seventeen, Evan O’Fion has a choice: let her loss define her or rise above it and become more than she ever believed she was capable of. The problem? Giving in to the darkness that calls her is just too easy. Add in to the mix the ability to control the elements and travel across space and time, and Evan is pretty sure she’s going to lose it completely. Giving in would be a relief, but Evan is beginning to realize that there are people counting on her and that the mystery of her past is the key to it all.
As Evan struggles to put her party-girl ways behind her, she must learn to control her new abilities and face the fact that everything she thought she knew about herself was a lie. On top of it all, she has to face a new town, new home, new school, and a sexy dangerous guy…or two.

Dealing has never been Evan’s strong suit. How she’s going to handle it all and come out alive, she has no idea, but she’s stronger than ever and she’s not going down without a fight.

My Review: Amazing! I was completely submerged into this story. I felt as though something had me tied to it. Evan Elemental is sensational. This story lacked for nothing as far as I am concerned. Every character seemed real and held enough mystery around them to keep you guessing and wondering about their true nature. The scenes from this book were painted perfectly in my mind that anymore description would have been over kill. I am so taken by this book that I want to read it again just to go back and pick up on the things I may have missed the first time. All I will tell you is this Crysta Groszek has written an A+ winner of a story. I will for sure be watching for more books by her as I am confident that Evan's story is no where near finished I believe it has only just begun!

Death Knows My Name Review

Title-Death Knows My Name
By-Casse NaRome
Expected Publication Date- July 16, 2013
Published By- Soul Mate Publishing
Genre-Adult Paranormal Romance

Blurb-

MAYNE ST LECLAIR has spent her adult life closed off emotionally from the world around her. She learned very early on that those who get close to her end up dead. She knows she is cursed, but what she doesn't know is why.

ECTAIN “ERIC” EDECK knows the pain he has caused Mayne but the connection is undeniable. Can Mayne get passed the hurt and fall in love or has her heart been broken too many times?

Is death playing some sort of cruel joke on Mayne St LeClair or is watching her suffer breaking Death’s heart?

My Review: What do you do when everyone you have ever loved has been taken from you and you feel like you are the one to blame? You lock the door to your heart and you throw away the key. The rest of the world is kept at arms length so you can't hurt anyone and they can't hurt you or that's how Mayne thought. Mayne is a girl who holds nothing back she is a tell all type of girl as she figures she has nothing more to lose. Then Eric walks in and all bets are off all Mayne knows is that she needs him but doesn't understand why. Will she risk the chance of opening up that door again? Will she risk her heart for what she knows she wants?
Death Knows My Name is one romance that will have your head spinning. I for one am glad I chose to read this book it isn't your grandma's romance that's for sure. It is one book that had me full of emotion and not sure what side I was cheering for. I loved the fact that there is a little bit of action in there just enough that makes you want to throw a punch or two yourself. I can tell you that this book is worth a read and that Casse Narome is a talented writer I would highly recommend any book she writes!

Butterfly in Winter Review

Title: A Butterfily in Winter
Author: Tara Entwistle-Clark
Genre: Young Adult

Tour Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Synopsis:
Allison Stafford is fourteen. As if that is not enough to deal with in itself, her parents suddenly move her from her small town in Vermont to suburban Michigan, all in the middle of her freshman year of high school. For Allison, there is more to learn at her new school than just finding her way around. Soon she is attempting to make sense of her newly discovered sexuality, and wondering what it takes to fit in with the "cool" people at her school. Despite tragedy and several mistakes, Allison manages to survive. This novel leads the reader through the murky depths of high school, and reminds us all of the importance of true friendship.4. I don't take pictures, although I can see if I can add one eventually.
5. Tara is always in the middle of something. Right now, that "something" includes a YA novel called "How Quick Bright Things" and a fantasy novel that is nearly done but has no title. In addition to writing, she loves to read. Her favorite author of all time is Courtney Summers. She thinks you should probably read her instead! No one captures high school better.

My Review: High school what a nightmare! I remember being terrified. Tara Clark did an awesome job of capturing all of those moments. All the nervousness and being terrified to make a move for fear you would do or say the wrong thing. Reading A Butterfly in Winter  made all of my terrifying moments return. I felt for Allison I knew what she was going through and so wanted to help her. I believe that this story was very well written and really is quite wonderful at the same time. I think this is a great coming of age story that every teen should read just so they know they aren't alone and being different is what makes them special! This is one book that I will hold on to and read again when I least expect to.

Excerpt:

Bayberry Hill Park was half an hour from Bethlehem in the small town of Castleton. The park was vast, with hiking trails, campgrounds and a stable. We parked near the entrance to the hiking trails. Patrick grabbed some maps from the information desk and we walked into the forest. It was the beginning of May and everything was green. The forest smelled fresh, like it had just woken from a long sleep, and the trees were at full. It was dark inside the trees, since very little light made its way through the leaves. We were on a well-beaten dirt path. We stopped at a clearing and sat down. Rachel and Patrick sat on a log, with their backs to the trail. Tim and I leaned against a tree, sitting in the damp grass.
“Hey, Tim, what happened last night?” Rachel asked. “We really didn’t get to talk about it. What’s up with Brian and Angie?”
Tim sighed, shrugged, and looked at Rachel. “You know how they are. Angie feels like she might not have Brian’s complete attention, so she invents a tragedy. There is always something. I don’t know. I don’t even know why I bother hanging around them anymore.”
“Why do you?” Patrick asked.
“Well, Brian’s my best friend. I've known him since we were both kids. We live only a few blocks from each other and used to do everything together. When Angie’s family moved in, the three of us became inseparable. Angie got breasts, though, and Brian stopped thinking about anything else. I don’t really have anyone but Brian anymore,” Tim explained.
“Tim and I have been hanging out with them forever,” Rachel added. “There used to be five of us, but it’s a long story. The point is we feel obligated to still hang out with them, even though they’re totally pathetic.”
Patrick nodded. “Yeah, I understand. Everyone has people like that.” I wondered to myself if I knew anyone like that. I supposed there had been people back home, but I couldn't think of anyone in particular.
“So, who’s up for hiking?” Patrick asked. Rachel stood up, wiping dirt off her butt and reached for his hand.
“You guys go ahead,” I offered, knowing Rachel was hoping to spend time alone with Patrick. Tim and I got up, wet from the grass, and walked away from the clearing into a large open field. He took off his jacket and laid it on the ground for me to sit on. I lay down, facing the sky and closed my eyes. Tim lay down next to me, on his side, so he was leaning over me. He kissed me quickly, softly, and lay back on the ground. We stayed there staring at the sky, not speaking, for a few minutes. He pointed out clouds to me and I smiled, breathing in the warm, spring air. I turned over on my side, so I was looking at him, and played with his hair.
“I’m so glad you didn't wear your hat. You have the coolest hair,” I said.
“Thanks, I think,” he laughed. “You’re so awesome. You’re not like anyone else.”
“You’re joking, right? I am so much like everyone else. I’m boring and plain and I can’t do anything.”
“That’s not true. You’re beautiful, funny, and really smart. I could tell you were smart the first time I met you. I know I never talked to you much, but I listened.”
I thanked him, blushing. I did not handle compliments well, mostly because I did not get them often.
“I don’t know. I just kinda wish I was more like Rachel,” I said.

“Why? Rachel’s cool and I really like her, but I like you more.”
