Blurb-
He didn't commit suicide but who’s going to believe her...
Frustrated at being fired from her latest job and overwhelmed by her consolatory family, Sam decides to move to the family’s cabin at the lake. A place she hasn't been since her dad committed suicide there twenty years before. Or did he? Snooping is something she’s good at but someone seems to be taking offense to her looking too closely at what has been happening at the lake. What she discovers is shocking. Now she must uncover what’s real and what’s not. All that she learned growing up, may be false. Keegan who has recently moved to the area to finish his latest book is also trying to find out if his grandfather, who’d passed away ten years before, died of natural causes or was murdered? The descendants of the four families who own the land around the lagoon are dying off. Since Sam and Keegan are the only ones questioning the deaths, they find themselves working together to seek the truth. Are people being murdered? Who would benefit from their deaths? Why would there be barricades and armed guards at the north end of the lake? To stay alive, Sam and Keegan must find the answers and convince others, before more people are killed... including them.

My Review: If you like a setting on the edge of your seat nail biting mystery thriller here is one waiting for you! Tainted Waters was all of that and more. I found myself wanting a chance to jab the bad guys in the face a few times myself. As Sam and Keegan set out to figure out what is happening to the people who suddenly seem to be dying off it seems as though they were playing with the devil himself and he held all the cards. I couldn't put this book down I had to find the answers as much as Sam and Keegan. These two characters create quite a team and become a force that doesn't back down or walk away without finding what they came looking for.
Maggie Thom is an awesome mystery/ thriller writer and I am certainly happy I have stumbled upon her books. She has definitely earned a spot on my bookshelf. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Tainted Waters and highly recommend it.

Where Petals Fall Review

Title: Where Petals Fall
Author: Melissa Foster
Genre: Mystery/ Thriller
Pages: 283

The Blurb: On the surface Junie Olson's life looks idyllic, from her handsome husband and beautiful daughter to her successful business, the bakery she'd always dreamed of opening. But in the past few months her world has slowly unraveled. Her precocious child is withdrawing, showing unexplainable signs of emotional regression, a condition that frays the bonds of Junie's once impenetrable marriage. When her father dies suddenly of a heart attack, Junie packs up her daughter and goes home to help her mother. Her homecoming stirs up memories of the nightmare she thought she had put behind her, the disappearance of her childhood friend, Ellen. Haunted by recurring memories of what happened on that fateful day, Junie must gather the courage to revisit her past and untangle the secrets surrounding her missing friend, and the trauma that has caused her little girl to climb back into herself. As the pieces come together on the event that shook her small town, and at the risk of losing everyone she loves, Junie will question everything she thought she could rely on and everyone she thought she knew.

My Review: As I began to read this story the little hairs on the back of my neck started to rise as a chill ran down my spine leaving me hanging on the edge of my seat waiting for something to come around the corner of the next page that would only make my heart race faster. It was all over for me at that point I was hooked putting the book down was no longer an option. I had to know every last detail and I had to know it right now! Where Petals Fall had a tight grip on me at that point and I was over my head trying to come up for air. As I became one with the characters and their daily lives that involved so much from the deepest felt love to ripping your heart of of your chest heartache. Junie's mind was a maze of barriers each one blocking out what was really there. As she tries to remember she begins to get broken pieces of memory leaving her not sure of who or what to trust. As the story progressed and I started to be able to put some of the puzzle pieces in place I knew I was far from knowing the truth. I loved every minute of it! Becoming part of Junie's journey to uncover the truth about the past and helping to find out the secrets that her daughter had locked away was absolutely amazing. I am once again hooked by  author Melissa Foster. I love her style of writing leaving the reader on the edge of their seat nail biting thriller.  I will for sure adding this one to my list of favorites!

Battle unicorns are big and tough and full of attitude. Who knew?

Unicorns are real and so are the monsters. Soul stealers are reaping the souls of the innocent, and the unicorns are fighting to stop them. But to save the world, they need the help of humans – the enemy they’re dying to protect. And first to sign up for the fight is the ex-boyfriend Scout’s heart won’t stop loving, no matter how determined she is to hate him.

My Review: I was absolutely blown away by this book! I entered it not sure what would happen or if I would even like. I didn't like it I loved it! I want more! Warrior Beautiful is exactly that, beautiful! This book holds nothing back from the reader at all. The amazing battle scenes were as epic as Harry Potter and that's saying a lot coming from a huge Harry fan. I couldn't put this book down I blazed through it. Feeling like I had fought some of the battles myself right along side the main character Scout. Scout is a beautiful girl with a huge heart especially where her sister Lil Bit is concerned. Scout finds herself in some gut wrenching battles to save the one person who has the heart of a true believer. I will be keeping this book on my reread shelf and will be excitedly awaiting the next in the series!

Wendy Knight was born and raised in Utah by a wonderful family who spoiled her rotten because she was the baby. Title- Fire & Ice
Series- Book Of Shadows Book # 1
By- Lacey Weatherford

Publication Date- September 8, 2013

Blurb-
Time passes . . . sometimes too quickly, other times not fast enough, but that’s not what’s important. The essential thing is what we learn about ourselves during that passage of time and how we apply it. Will we continue to follow the destructive paths we find ourselves on? Will we give in to circumstances that seem completely unchangeable? Or will we desperately fight to hold onto those we love and to what’s good inside us—no matter how terrible the cost?
I only know I would do whatever was required of me to keep Portia, but in a world of witches, warlocks, and demons, anything can happen.

My name is Vance Mangum, and this is my story.

My Review: I absolutely loved reading this story and especially having met Vance in the Of Witches and Warlocks Series. Being able to read Fire & Ice and getting to find out about Vance and when Portia comes in and how fate twists their lives together through Vance's POV was awesome. I became consumed with this story. I did not want it to end but like all good thing they do end and this was just another case of that coming true. I will treasure this book as I do the Of Witches and Warlock Series. I will for sure add Fire & Ice to my list of favorites.  Thank you Lacey Weatherford for sharing Vance with the rest of the world!

It was while she was attending the small country school in Clay Springs, that she read her first "big" book at the age of eight. It was a Nancy Drew novel and Lacey was instantly hooked. She read every book that she could find in the series and decided that she wanted to write stories too.

Lacey spent a lot of time at the library from that time forward, even volunteering in her later teen years and early twenties. She would don a crazy clown outfit for the Friends of the Library fundraisers in an effort to help get the new town library built.

When she and her husband moved away from the area, Lacey took the opportunity to take some creative writing classes at the local college to help further along her interests. Lacey and her family still live in the White Mountains of Arizona, where she continues to write young adult novels that have a fantasy/fairytale or paranormal bent to them, as well as being sure to include a great romantic storyline!

Title: The Trouble With Spells
Series: Of Witches and Warlocks #1
By: Lacey Weatherford

Publication Date: November 12th, 2009 by Moonstruck Media

Blurb-
Portia Mullins had always lived the life of a normal teenager, up until her sixteenth birthday. She is then informed by her grandma that she is actually a witch who is a descendant of a long line of witches and warlocks. After overcoming her disbelief she finds that being a member of the coven comes with one great perk in the form of the school's handsome bad boy, Vance Mangum. Vance and Portia have an immediate connection as a budding romance begins, only to be threatened by turbulent skies on the horizon as Vance's checkered past rears its ugly head to haunt them. Portia is forced to use her untried powers in defense of everything she loves in a desperate attempt to hold on to the one thing that really matters in her life.

My Review: As i set down to begin my journey reading this series I secretly hope to myself that it is as good as it looks. I was not disappointed. What a wonderful story this was definitely a great way to start out. The Trouble With Spells is a great start to what I hope will have an awesome ending. There isn't a detail that was missing as Lacy Weatherford paints the Arizona sky and back drop with vivid detail. I loved the characters Portia gets handed kind of good/bad thing on her sixteenth birthday just bam here you are and oh by the way your a witch with powers you need to learn to control. Then there is Vance who just struts across page after page. He is certainly bad boy material. Watching Portia and Vance beginning romance bloom is very sweet and not over bearing or to sexy it was just sweet and I enjoyed watching the petals of it bloom with hope that it will become something young sweet and beautiful. All and all I truly enjoyed the first book there were some spots that lagged for me but they were quickly overlooked as I became wrapped up in this the first in the Of Witches and Warlock Series. I am looking forward to the rest.

Title- The Demon Kiss
Series- Of Witches and Warlocks # 2
By- Lacey Weatherford

Blurb-
Can someone else's past come back to bite you?

After being drained of nearly all the blood in her body, novice witch, Portia Mullins, wakes up to find that her warlock boyfriend, Vance Mangum, has fled in search of his demon father. Determined to keep him from facing the evil alone Portia follows after him, unknowingly setting herself on the path of a new adventure that will take her, Vance, and their coven over international borders, into a foreign place where they will discover that the black magic which awaits them is far worse than they ever imagined. Portia finds herself tangled up in a web of lies and deceit in another's quest for demonic power in the excitingly romantic second paranormal novel in the Of Witches and Warlocks Series, The Demon Kiss.

My Review: Never skipped a beat. Book two The Demon Kiss picks up right were book one ends. What a turbulent, whirlwind, fast paced, twister of a ride this story is. I was totally sucked into this book with out ever looking back. I could not put it down. Believing that true love can conquer all is what kept me going. I am a bit of a romantic and a girl who loved her fairy tales. I always believe that true love can take on anything and win if you are willing to fight for it. Portia fights with all that is in her to keep her eyes sett on Vance and getting them through what could be the fight of their young lives. As the black magic swirls and leaves you in it's mist for just a bit you learn that as this couple fight their way through that maybe the good guys can always win and true love conquers all. I am so wrapped up in this series and it's only book two I hope it continues to keep me in the throws of young love and the excitement of discovering that being a witch may not be such a bad thing after all.

Title- Blood of the White Witch
Series-Of Witches and Warlocks # 3
By-Lacey Weatherford

Blurb-
When love came knocking on the door of novice witch, Portia Mullins, in the form of handsome bad boy, Vance Mangum, she had no idea how quickly the attraction between them would escalate. Now she finds her relationship with Vance taken to a whole new level, in a way she had never dreamed possible at this point and time of her life. Yet even as the personal connection between them explodes, the two quickly find themselves in a world of shifting balances. While searching for Vance’s missing mother, they realize they are suddenly unsure of who to trust, learning that sometimes things are not always as they appear. When Vance’s demon characteristics abruptly begin to resurface again without warning, the horrible truth comes out, crashing down upon them and shattering some of their most precious dreams. Once the deadly plan is uncovered, Portia and Vance find themselves hastily rushing against the hands of time in an attempt to stop an ancient ritual from being performed. But will they be successful before fate reaches out to twist them cruelly, possibly separating them and changing magic forever? Passion, loyalties, powers, and family ties, will all be tested when dangerous adventures abound in this third installment in the Of Witches and Warlocks series, Blood of the White Witch.

My Review: I began book three with mounds of excitement left from book two. Blood of the White Witch did not disappoint at all. Taking on some of the darkest deadliest truths in their lives left me reeling in hopes that this was not the end of this couples fight to stay together. This part of the story seems to be so much darker than ever before. As I continued on I began to wonder if they would be able to make it through a magical dark world of upside down shifts. The truth is out but is does true love conquer all or is it all just a fairy tale dream that I made up in my head for Portia and Vance. Everything these two have ever been known to be true may just send them spiraling into a darkness that has the ability to take over. What an adventurous thrill ride that I could not put down. I am so excited to reach the next book that I can not believe that I have be come so wrapped up in. This series is as addictive as bubble wrap!

Title- The Dark Rising
Series- Of Witches and Warlocks # 4
By-Lacey Weatherford

Blurb-
When Portia Mullins discovers the love of her life is still alive her heart soars. But reality sets in immediately causing it to plummet when she realizes he doesn't remember his past life with her. Unwilling to give up, she embarks on a loving quest to restore his life to him.
Vance Mangum sees the beautiful girl claiming to be his wife, and while he can’t remember her, he can’t deny the intense pull he feels between them. Not knowing where else to turn, he agrees to give her the time she’s asked for and to assist her in the effort to recover his memories.
The two quickly reconnect, but dark surprises are lurking in the wings when Vance discovers a desperate longing for something he feels he can’t withstand. Will he be able to resist? Or will evil raise its head in a new form, leaving Portia as the prey of the very man her heart desires?
Darkness reigns supreme in this haunting tale of love and desperation, Of Witches and Warlocks, The Dark Rising.

My Review: Imagine the worst day of your life and multiply it by 10 because that is what happens to Portia. The one she thought she could never lose who would be by her side fighting anything that came their way is gone  and with it her heart. How does she pick up the pieces of her broken heart after having to bury her one true love and husband Vance. She can't make herself believe he is truly gone it is as if there is a tie the can not be broken and a fight left in Portia to discover what is really going on. As she follows her heart to her soul she finds Vance alive but he has no clue who Portia is although something in him stirs and he blindly trust her he believes and let's Portia in. Just when you think the worst is over darkness awaits it's chance to sneak in and take it's toll on Vance. Evil lurks as it bides it's time to take over and take Vance into a darkness that he may never come back from. This is one heck of a thriller love story that has got me spinning. I never know whether to laugh or cry. I truly believe that this series just keeps getting better and better the further into it I get pulled. I can't put it down I find myself wanting to read all night long just to get to the next book to find out how it all may end. My nails will be bitten to the quick soon I am loving this series!

Title- Possession of Souls
Series-Of Witches and Warlocks # 5
By- Lacey Weatherford

Blurb-
Fear and desperation leave Portia and Vance clinging to threadbare hope as life is given, and taken away. Manipulated, driven by bloodlust and the desire to claim sole possession, the stakes are raised higher than they've ever been before. Evil rises with the intent to dominate, leading them and their coven to the ultimate confrontation and battle—a battle which will force one of them to make a devastating, life-altering decision. Who will survive the final stand?
Of Witches and Warlocks book 5, Possession of Souls.

My Review: What a truly edge of your seat twisted thriller this series turned out to be. I will admit I was a little hesitant in the beginning but my belief in this series being something more won me over and I became taken over by these books. I loved every minute of Portia and Vance and was totally thrilled that their story had some ups and downs and hardships just like everyone else does. They band together and took on each obstacle that hit their path in stride. I do believe that true love conquers all and that sometimes it's all you have left to hold on to. I can't give details about this the last of the series Possession of Souls for fear of releasing HUGE spoiler alerts. I will finish this up by saying I would love to see more come from this as my heart feels like Portia and Vance may have a little more to say about things. Lacey Weatherford as made a believer out of me I will be looking forward to more writings from her in the near future!
